Only one I can think of is the bolt rope on the main? Undecided

To keep things going what is the only rope you will find on a ship (none sailing) - and you can't have soap on a rope?
To give you a clue it is four letters and you can either have lanyard or rope after it.
They can be very ornate.

Ok guys just to get a debate going on this wonderful web site.

There are many pieces of string on a sailing boat with many names but which is the only piece we call a rope. Kingfisher crew exempt as I told them the other day.
